Calculations for LDD100

Please read the Help&Info (concerning also limitation of warranty) below before using these calculations!

Input

values [V] measured on DB-25 connector of LDD100
Note: ULDD is the voltage of the user supply connected to the LDD100, and can be measured between pin#15 and pin#16.
Warning: pins# 15,17,19,21 are directly connected to the positive pole of the user supply, and pins# 16,18 to its negative (ground) pole. Do not short-circuit!

parameter value [V] range pin# reference
pin#
UHV -ULDD/2<=UHV<=0V  2 15
ULH ULL/2<ULH<=0V  4 17
ULL UD<ULL<2*ULH  6 19
UD 2*UHV<UD<ULL  8 21
UPI 0...1V  3 16
UPT 0...0.5V  5 18

Output

values calculated as described in starter kit manual

duty cycle %
frequency kHz
pulse length µs
pulse period µs
Ipeak A
Upeak V
Paverage W

Help and Info

Limitation of Warranty

Alpes Lasers is providing the data and formula in these document as a help to the user of its Starter Kits. However, no liability shall arise for Alpes Lasers unless Alpes Lasers has given written or personal agreement on the choice of parameters for lasers or electronics based on this document or its results. Any indication of parameter range is given as information only and does not mean that any of them may be fit for a particular system. The user has the responsibility of applying any signal to the system, unless Alpes Lasers has cleary authorized it. Alpes Lasers has taken all precautions to make the data and formula error-free, but can not be held liable for any mistake.

By using any part of this document, the user accepts to take all responsibilities for the results.

Explanation of fields

Input

The input fields are named as in the Starter Kit Manual section 8.2.1. All input must be given in Volts, measured from the "pin#" to the "reference pin#". The ranges show the values that can be expected during normal operation; however, these does not mean that any value in these ranges is safe! Do not apply voltage to the system that will generate any measurement in the indicated range, unless you have indication in datasheet or other clearly specified information from Alpes Lasers for your particular system!

Values UHV, ULH, ULL, UD are negative, UPI and UPT are positive.

Output

The output fields show the pulse operation values that can be calculated from the input values. These data are given with a better accuracy than physically achievable, and they do not indicate any warranty or specification by Alpes Lasers; they are solely meant as a help in operation or trouble-shooting. If you need accurate data, proceed as specified in the manual or ask Alpes Lasers in case of doubt. Alpes Lasers will be glad to assist you for any problem you may encounter during use of its products.
