DescriptionBroad gain Fabry-Pérot devices are devices especially designed to operate as gain media for External Cavity (EC) systems. These devices can also be used to provide illumination over a large spectral range with a relatively even spectral density.Available products

Notes:FP min and maxThe minimum and maximum edge of the emission envelope of the emission spectrum. This is obtained by measuring the spectrum of the free running device without coatings and with no external feedback. This shows the region where a feedback of approximately 30% will induce lasing. Indeed if the laser is operated in an external cavity system and provided with anti reflection coating, the feedback at a specific wavelength will be close to 100% at the wavelength of choice and only a few ppm at other wavelength forbbiding emission.PEC min and maxThese columns indicates the range in which single mode laser emission has been obtained when operating the laser in pulsed mode in an external cavity system. ITALIC values are expected and NOT measured data.CW-EC min and maxThese columns indicates the range in which single mode laser emission is expected to be obtained when operating the laser in CW (Continuous Wave) mode in an external cavity system. ITALIC values are expected and NOT measured data. The figure below shows the free running spectra of devices in log scale for a typical of each category, as well as a representation of the wavelength tuning range expected if the device is properly coated and operated within an external cavity setup (colored rectangles on the top of the graph).
